Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEN school in Merton. The role is full-time and long-term, starting ASAP, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.

You will work closely with class teachers and other staff to develop academic and social skills, implement individual support strategies, and provide emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN
• Patient, nurturing and encouraging approach
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Calm and consistent under pressure
• Experience with autism, complex needs or challenging behaviour desirable

Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEN school in Merton.

The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning and develop both academically and socially.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN TA, LSA or someone with a strong background working with children with additional needs.

The role will involve:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis


• Assisting with classroom learning and activities


• Supporting pupils with additional and complex needs


• Helping pupils develop their communication, independence and social skills
