Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a calm and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a Stockport provision. The role is temp to perm, start 03/09/2026, with a daily pay rate of £95–£110 depending on experience. You will support pupils 1:1, maintain communication with staff and parents, and help prepare engaging learning resources.

The school serves pupils aged 19–25 with complex needs. Prospero will conduct safeguarding checks; right to work in the UK and two professional references are required.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma (Health and Social Care) or equivalent
• Previous work experience supporting complex needs in school/ccare setting preferred
• Calm, compassionate nature essential

Are you a calm and compassionate teaching assistant, with experience supporting complex needs? We are currently working with a large SEN provision in Stockport, to recruit experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team in September.

The school is a specialist college, who support pupils aged between 19-25, with complex needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, providing both emotional and sensory support
• Maintain regular communication with staff, parents and external agencies to monitor progress and development
• Prepare engaging learning resources

Requirements:

• A Level 3 Diploma, or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• Previous work experience supporting complex needs within a school or care setting is preferred
• A calm, compassionate nature

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
