Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Grays, Essex seeks a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs. The role is ongoing/long-term and is full-time, Monday to Friday, starting September 2026 under school supervision.

You will assist with SEMH needs, help maintain classroom structure and support safeguarding and inclusive learning in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN students is required.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Ability to manage a classroom and support positive behaviour.
• Comfortable handling challenging behaviour.

Minimum rate of pay Minimum rate - 90 - 110
Hours - Monday to Friday - 08.30 - 15. mins unpaid break

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have SEN Experience
• Must have experience with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs
• Able to manage a classroom
• Must be comfortable with challenging behaviour

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
