Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in New Milton. This role provides the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who find mainstream education challenging.

The position involves working with students in years 7-11 with SEN needs that affect their ability to thrive in mainstream settings. We are seeking a compassionate individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Contract/Position Details

• Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
• Start Date: Jan 2025
• Contract type: Temp to perm
• Full/Part time: Full-time
• Hours: 9:30am - 3:30pm
• Minimum pay rate: GBP

Experience, Training, Qualifications

• Must have experience working with young people or young adults with SEN (personal or professional)
• Articulate, creative, and dedicated to supporting children with SEN
• Passionate, positive, and a team player
• Confident with strong classroom management skills
• Enthusiastic and committed to teaching children with SEN
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

Eligibility Requirements

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
