Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Bournemouth, supporting children with special educational needs to thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment. Whether you have experience or are looking to start your career in education, we provide training and support to help you succeed.

About the Role:

  • The role involves supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • The types of SEN may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
  • The role also involves delivering intervention sessions to small groups to enhance understanding and progress.
  • A key aspect is developing an understanding of different pupils' needs and learning styles, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
  • Supporting pupils during break times and lunchtimes as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in UK schools.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.

Eligibility through Prospero Teaching:

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
