Meadowfield School is seeking an innovative and inspirational special needs teacher for our satellite provision at a neighbouring mainstream school. Satellite classes provide some of our more academically able pupils opportunities to learn in a mainstream and inclusive environment.

Ideal candidates will:
  • Have experience in both mainstream and SEND settings
  • Be confident and proactive in developing relationships with the host school
  • Be comfortable working away from the main site
  • Be creative in utilising a mainstream environment to support Meadowfield pupils' learning and preparation for further education and adulthood
  • Be resourceful in establishing a new class

We are looking for a Teacher for a secondary satellite class hosted at Fulston Manor School on Brenchley Road, Sittingbourne. Meadowfield successfully opened its first secondary class at Fulston in September 2025, with a second opening planned for September 2025. Pupils will be on the roll of Meadowfield School, following its curriculum, assessment practices, policies, and procedures. Learning will take place in a new building (to be completed in April 2025) on Fulston's campus. Pupils will benefit from facilities such as the sports hall and library.

The satellite will have approximately 20 Meadowfield pupils across two classes, ensuring small learning groups. Class Teachers will be supported by Teaching Assistants and an Assistant Principal who visits regularly from the main site. Applicants should be willing to travel from Fulston to the main site on Swanstree Avenue for meetings and CPD. We strongly recommend scheduling a visit to see us.

Further details about role responsibilities can be found in the attached job description, along with guidance on applying. We encourage you to review all provided information, including our website, before submitting your application.

Meadowfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. The post is subject to references, a medical check, an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service, and an online search in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024. Shortlisted candidates will need to complete a Self-Disclosure Form.

Please apply online; CVs will not be considered. Visit our website for video tours and additional information.
