Primary SEN Teacher - Hounslow (Part-Time: Wednesdays & Thursdays)

Are you an experienced Primary SEN Teacher with a passion for working with pupils with complex needs? We are recruiting for a warm and inclusive primary school in Hounslow, seeking a talented Primary SEN Teacher to join their specialist provision on a part-time, long-term basis, teaching every Wednesday and Thursday.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Primary SEN Teacher to deliver adapted, child-centred education to pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and ASD, helping them develop communication, sensory processing, and independence.

The Role - Primary SEN Teacher, Hounslow

• Location: Hounslow, West London
• Days: Part-Time - Wednesdays & Thursdays (Long-term)
• Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner for the right candidate)
• Contract: Long-term supply, part-time basis
• Salary: Paid to scale (pro rata, inner London rate)
  
  

You'll lead a small, supported class of primary-age pupils with PMLD and ASD, working alongside skilled TAs and collaborating with therapists and SEN leaders. The curriculum is sensory and life-skills based, tailored to meet EHCP targets and the specific needs of each child.

Requirements For This Primary SEN Teacher Role

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
• Proven experience teaching pupils with PMLD and ASD in a primary setting
• Knowledge of sensory-based, differentiated learning and communication strategies
• Able to lead and inspire a small staff team with a calm, nurturing approach
• Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and delivering outcomes aligned with EHCPs
  
  

Desirable Experience And Training

• Use of Makaton, PECS, or AAC devices
• Familiarity with sensory integration and sensory regulation practices
• Comfortable supporting students with medical and personal care needs
• Experience with Team Teach, Intensive Interaction, or similar approaches
