Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a Maths specialist to support secondary pupils with additional needs in Leicester. The role involves delivering Maths across KS3/KS4, adapting lessons and working with SEND and behavioural needs in specialist settings.

You will join a team providing personalised education, with opportunities for long-term and permanent placements and a dedicated recruiter to support you.

Qualifications

• QTS or a recognised teaching qualification is required.
• Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils is essential.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach is expected.
• Ability to differentiate work for a wide range of abilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4.
• Delivering Functional Skills and Entry Level Maths where required.
• Adapting lessons to individual learning needs.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs.
• Creating a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment.
• Tracking progress and providing clear feedback.
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams.
• Using creative approaches to re-engage pupils with learning.

Secondary SEN Maths Teachers. This is a great opportunity for someone who can combine strong subject knowledge with a calm, patient and flexible approach.

You’ll be working with secondary-aged pupils who may have needs including

ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD or other additional learning needs, with some students working below age-related expectations.

The role may include:

• Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering Functional Skills and Entry Level Maths where required
• Adapting lessons to individual learning needs
• Supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
• Creating a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment
• Tracking progress and providing clear feedback
