Job summary

Academics in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to support pupils with SEND in an inclusive classroom, planning differentiated lessons and liaising with TAs, SENCOs, therapists, and parents.

You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external professionals to develop personalised learning plans and provide the highest standard of education and support. Your ability to build positive relationships, adapt your teaching approach, and encourage confidence and independence will be key to every pupil's success.


The successful Special Needs Teacher will assess and monitor progress, set meaningful learning targets, and celebrate every achievement. You will have experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Whether your background is in a specialist or mainstream setting, your passion for inclusive education and commitment to helping children succeed will make you an excellent addition to the team.
