Kirk Hallam Community Academy in Ilkeston is seeking a candidate to provide dedicated support to young people with additional needs. You will collaborate with teaching staff, maintain accurate records, and help create an inclusive learning environment while prioritising safeguarding and effective communication.

The role demands adaptability, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring students receive consistent support and care throughout the school

Qualifications

• 5+ GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent.
• Educated to A level or equivalent.
• Experience of providing support to young people with additional needs.
• Knowledge of and use of the AET progression framework and resources.
• Knowledge of how to work effectively with young people with special needs.
• Ability to prioritise tasks.
• Adaptable approach to work with confidence to respond to unanticipated problems.
• Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to support others.
• Capability to work independently and use own initiative when required.
• Effective time management skills.
• Excellent record-keeping skills.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Approachable and reliable.
