Job summary

Kirklees College is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support learners at Springfield and Waterfront campus. The role involves planning, delivering learning activities in and out of the classroom with tutor support, and identifying SEND needs through initial assessments.

Ideally you will hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or be willing to work towards one and have experience in a post-16 environment with maths and English/ESOL. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying SEND needs through initial assessments and creating inclusion plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively and support students with maths/English/ESOL.
• Willingness to work towards a Teaching Assistant qualification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities in the classroom and beyond with tutor support.
• Identify individual SEND needs and implement inclusion plans for others to follow.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and impact for audits.
• Monitor attendance, progress and levels of support for High Needs/SEND students.
