Job summary

Academics is seeking a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant in Chichester to support pupils with SEN within a SEN/SEMH environment. You will work closely with teachers to aid learning, behaviour and emotional development, providing 1:1 and small group support.

The role offers on-site training, term-time hours, and a clear pathway into psychology, mental health or youth‑justice related careers. Right to work in the UK is required.

Special Needs Learning Support Assistant – Chichester – West Sussex

Are you a recent or soon-to-be graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology looking to gain hands‑on experience working with children and young people? Are you considering a future career in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Mental Health, or Youth Justice?

The Role – Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

This role in Chichester is an excellent opportunity for graduates seeking practical experience before progressing into careers within psychology, therapy, or mental health services.

As a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities for a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

• Experience with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
• Able to commute to Chichester

• £93-£105 per day
