Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting an SEN Teacher to join our partner Brentwood schools, supporting pupils with additional needs across primary and secondary settings. You will plan engaging lessons, adapt curriculum, and monitor progress to help pupils access learning and reach their potential.

Applicants should hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (PGCE or other) and have experience or strong interest in SEN.

  • PGCE or equivalent training
  • Experience or strong interest in SEN education
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
  • Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and wider school teams
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations
  • Implement and follow EHCP targets and individual learning plans
  • Support positive behaviour management strategies across the classroom

Location: Brentwood (Primary & Secondary SEN Schools)

Job Type: Full-Time (5 days a week), Long-Term / Temp to Perm

Role Overview

We are working with a range of SEN schools in Brentwood (primary and secondary settings) who are looking for dedicated SEN Teachers to join their teams immediately.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
