Job summary

Shaw Education Trust is seeking a caring Ancillary Assistant to join our dedicated team at a specialist school. You will support pupils during the school day, help prepare materials and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Experience in schools or care settings is helpful, and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. This role may be based across two sites within the Trust.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during classroom activities, breaks, transitions and other aspects of the school day.
• Assist with personal care needs, where required, in a respectful manner.
• Help prepare and organise learning materials, equipment and classroom resources.
• Support staff in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming learning environment.
• Supervise pupils during lunchtime, playtimes and off-site activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, communication and social interaction.
• Provide reassurance and support to pupils, helping them feel safe and included.
• Follow school safeguarding procedures at all times.
