Shaw Education Trust is seeking a caring and committed Casual Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support pupils with severe and complex learning needs. You will assist across our special and mainstream settings, helping learners achieve their potential.

You will collaborate with teachers and specialists to create a safe, inclusive learning environment, providing individual and small-group support while promoting independence and confidence in pupils.

Job description

We are looking for a Caring and Committed Casual Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide valuable support to our pupils across the school.

Our school provides specialist education for children and young people with severe and complex learning difficulties, creating a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.

As a Casual Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other specialist staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. You will help create a positive and engaging learning environment, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and celebrating every achievement, however big or small.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom.
  • Providing individual and small-group support as required.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of complex needs in a patient, caring and positive manner.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and participation.
