Job summary

The Shaw Education Trust is seeking an Ancillary Assistant at our Derby site to support pupils with additional needs. You will help with classroom activities, breaks, transitions and supervising pupils during lunchtimes and off-site activities.

Personal care support is provided when required, always with respect and dignity. We value caring, patient individuals who work well in teams and are committed to helping pupils thrive across our specialist settings.

Qualifications

• Caring and patient approach to support children with additional needs.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Experience in a school or specialist setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during classroom activities, breaks, transitions and other aspects of the school day.
• Assist with personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner when required.
• Help prepare and organise learning materials, equipment and classroom resources.
