What will you do?

Play and test the games. Literally. But we need you to be on it and all over it. Relentless with your approach to testing games. As an absolute perfectionist, you will find linguistic bugs and report these back using bug databases, communicating across global boundaries in an unambiguous way, which is why it’s really important you can communicate in clear English.

What would you do at work?
  • Ensure games and applications provide the best user experience by being linguistically bug-free.
  • Check in-game text for linguistic accuracy, correctness, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Follow Universally Speaking's LQA process and standards, optimized over the years to be industry-leading.
  • Use industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports, demonstrating trustworthiness and care for game quality.
  • Take ownership to ensure bugs are fixed and correctly implemented.
  • Become the LQA Expert across various projects and areas of specialization.
  • Create, manage, and execute test cases throughout the project lifecycle, including documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure effective localization QA testing.
  • Seek continuous improvement, ownership of additional activities, and work efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the QA team.

  • Quality, velocity, and accuracy of bug reports.
  • Team collaboration and communication.
  • Continuous learning and improvement in LQA workflows and techniques.
Requirements

You are a great match if you:

  • Are an expert in Spanish.
  • Have proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Are passionate about video games.
  • Are a team player, able to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Are proactive, tenacious, and enthusiastic.
  • Have a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Are proficient with computers, including word processing, databases, record keeping, and MS Office Suite.
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
It’s really useful if you have some of the following, but if not, we can teach you
  • Previous experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading.
  • Experience with LQA testing tools (test case management, text editing).
  • Knowledge of CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ).
  • Knowledge of the video game industry and trends.
  • Desirable but not essential: a higher degree in linguistics.
