Job summary

Airbus invites undergraduates to join the Mechanical Analysis department in Stevenage for a 12-month placement year focused on mechanical analysis of spacecraft hardware. You will develop analysis tools and perform structural analyses under experienced engineers.

Responsibilities include supporting design/test phases, learning analysis techniques, and using Excel and MATLAB. The role offers hybrid working options, 37 hours per week, and a pathway to gain hands-on space engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates only for the whole duration of the placement.
• Predicted 2:1 or above in degree.
• Understanding of structural analysis.
• Appreciation of mechanical simulation software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing analysis tools to improve our processes.
• Performing mechanical analysis to support the design or test phase of ongoing space hardware projects.
