Job summary

microTECH Global LTD in Bracknell is seeking a hands-on technician to support the build, integration and test of electronic boards, harnesses and test rigs for the AURA gridded-ion thruster. You will work across hardware lifecycle and report into the AIT team, ensuring quality and traceability of hardware.

Your role includes assembling, reworking and inspecting boards to IPC Class 3, building wiring harnesses, setting up mechanical and electrical test setups, and supporting AIT campaigns with

Qualifications

• Experience reading schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on experience assembling, reworking and inspecting electronic boards.
• Experience building test setups from drawings and procedures.
• Experience supporting AIT or similar integration activities.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and traceability practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework and inspect electronic boards to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards.
• Build and terminate wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Crimp, solder and lace harnesses; install backshells and EMC/HV protection.
• Build mechanical and electrical test setups, fixtures and bench instrumentation.
• Support AIT activities including functional, environmental and continuity testing.
• Read from schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly procedures.
• Maintain as-built records and test logs for traceability of flight hardware.
• Operate lab equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, DAQ.
• Follow ESD practices and ensure cleanroom/ISO-classified work areas when required.
