Job summary

NewOrbit Space is seeking a hands-on technician to support build, integration and test of electronic boards and harnesses for the AURA gridded-ion thruster. You will work across the hardware lifecycle, assembling flight-quality electronics, setting up test rigs and supporting AIT campaigns with the thruster and control electronics.

You will report to the AIT team, collaborating with electronics, control, software and satellite teams, while ensuring quality and traceability of built hardware.

Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 Class 3 certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience assembling, reworking and inspecting electronic boards and harnesses.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly procedures.
• Demonstrated quality control and traceability in hardware.
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, DAQ).
• ESD-conscious working practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, rework and inspect electronic boards to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards.
• Build and terminate wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Crimp, solder and lace harnesses; install backshells and EMC/HV protection.
• Create and test mechanical and electrical test fixtures and rigs.
• Support AIT activities including functional, environmental and continuity checks.
• Read schematics and drawings and maintain as-built records and test logs.
• Operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.
