Job summary

Cambridge Aerospace is seeking a Test Equipment Development Engineer to design, develop, commission and maintain automated and semi-automated test equipment for our products. The role mixes hands-on engineering with real-world production testing across electronics, electro-mechanical systems and propulsion hardware.

You will own bespoke test solutions from concept through deployment, working with Product and Verification teams to deliver robust production test stations and data-driven sequences.

Qualifications

• Experience developing automated or semi-automated test equipment in high-reliability environments.
• Proven ability to take test equipment from requirements to deployment.
• Practical knowledge of instrumentation, data acquisition and fault-finding.
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, C#, MATLAB or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke automated and semi-automated test equipment from requirements through deployment.
• Develop electrical/ electronic/ mechanical test interfaces, fixtures and data acquisition systems.
• Develop automated test sequences, control software and operator interfaces.
• Implement data acquisition, pass/fail, reporting across development and production tests.
• Create production-ready end-of-line test equipment and improve throughput and usability.
• Provide technical ownership for deployed test equipment, including documentation and supplier engagement.
