Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking FE/Stress Engineers focused on space systems. You will deliver Finite Element studies and analytical stress reports for satellite payloads and structures.

The role requires a degree in engineering or science, aerospace stress experience, and proficiency with HyperWorks and NASTRAN. Knowledge of FEMAP is a plus. Hybrid working and ongoing learning opportunities are available.

Qualifications

Degree level in engineering or science, ideally Mechanical.
Experience of stress engineering in aerospace.
Experience using HyperWorks and NASTRAN for FE modelling and analysis.
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes desirable.
Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Knowledge of FEMAP could be a plus.

Responsibilities

Understand stress analysis workflow prescribed by customer.
Finite Elements analysis: modify geometry, model updates, boundary conditions, verification/validation.
Run simulations (static, dynamic, vibrations) and post-processing of results.
Perform analytical stress calculations using prescribed methods and tools.
Present and report progress and results to internal/external stakeholders.
Write technical reports.
