Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Manchester/Stevenage/Harwell offices. You will design and develop onboard and ground test software for payloads, collaborating with a cross-functional team on challenging space missions.

The role requires C/C++ on Linux, and experience with Git/Jenkins and test documentation. A hybrid work model is offered, with opportunities to travel to partner sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to derive software designs from requirements.
• Contribute to Requirements, Architecture, Design and Test documentation.
• Experience in developing C/C++ for systems using Linux.
• Familiarity with industry tool chains (Git, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of high availability and secure software design desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop onboard software and ground test software for payloads.
• Collaborate with team and share knowledge proactively.
• Identify root causes, develop test cases and robust solutions.
• Estimate resources for end-to-end software delivery to customers.
• Document APIs and code for validation teams and future maintenance.
• Willingness to travel to partner locations to support projects.
