Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our UK teams in Manchester, Stevenage or Harwell. You will contribute to on-board and ground software development for payloads, working within a cross-functional team to deliver robust, well-documented solutions for space missions.

You will bring strong C/C++ expertise on Linux, experience with modern development toolchains, and a drive to innovate in space technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience developing C/C++ for Linux-based systems.
• Experience with formal development, testing, integration and documentation processes.
• Knowledge of wireless telecommunications systems.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel and device drivers.
• Python development skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop on-board software and ground test software for payloads.
• Collaborate with team members and share knowledge.
• Identify root causes, write test cases, and provide robust solutions.
• Estimate resources for end-to-end software delivery to customers.
• Document APIs and code and communicate findings clearly.
