Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Manchester/Stevenage/Harwell offices. You will design and implement onboard and ground-test software for payloads, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver robust solutions for space missions.

The role requires strong C/C++ on Linux, experience with Git/Jenkins, and familiarity with Python numerical libraries. Occasional travel to partner sites and a proactive, problem-solving mindset are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to derive software designs from requirements.
• Experience in C/C++ for Linux-based systems.
• Familiar with Git, Jenkins and software test processes.
• Knowledge of Python numerical libraries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop on-board software and ground test software for payloads.
• Collaborate within a team, sharing knowledge proactively.
• Identify root causes and develop robust tests and solutions.
• Estimate resources for end-to-end software delivery to customers.
• Document APIs and code and communicate with validation teams.
• Adapt to changing business priorities and travel to partner sites.
