Job summary

Expleo Group seeks an experienced Metallurgist for an onsite role in Portsmouth, UK. You will ensure materials and processes for waveguide hardware meet regulatory and contract standards for aerospace programmes and support certification and safe operation.

Responsibilities include reviewing supplier materials, managing qualification testing, and advising on obsolescence and substitutions across sites while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver programmes on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related discipline.
• Applications invited from candidates with HNC/HND plus significant experience in the domain.

Responsibilities

• Approve materials and processes for waveguide hardware per MPCB requirements.
• Review supplier materials and manufacturing processes for compliance with M&P requirements.
• Manage material/process qualifications via RFA and internal programs.
• Prepare Qualification Test Plans and Reports and related documentation.
• Inspect waveguide hardware during manufacturing and assembly.
• Investigate non-conformances and drive timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, authorities, manufacturing, and supply chain quality teams.
• Manage obsolescence and qualify alternative materials or processes.
• Provide metallurgical expertise across Portsmouth and Stevenage sites.
