Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for our Harwell office to source and manage electronic components for production and engineering builds. You will work with engineering teams on drawings, BOMs and specifications, while ensuring supplier performance and compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and UK MOD/ITAR requirements.

You will lead supplier onboarding, negotiate terms, and manage ERP/MRP data to support multiple projects in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in procurement/buying preferably in the Space and Defense industries.

Responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and procure EEE electronic components in support of production and engineering builds.
Interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications with engineering teams to clarify requirements.
Ensure standards and controls across all procurement phases (RFI through delivery).
Identify and develop new business opportunities and expansion with space community.
Onboard suppliers and ensure ISO 9001, AS9100, and UK MOD/ITAR compliance.
Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy (prices, lead times, MOQs).
Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, and Quality on obsolescence and changes.
Prepare proposals, budgets, and operating statements.
Lead PO negotiations and amendments.
Remain calm and goal-oriented in a fast-moving environment.
