Job summary

Luxury Lodges at Milk Wood House, Dylan Coastal Resort in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, is hiring Spa Hosts to cover a mix of shifts including weekends. You’ll be the first friendly face guests see, handling reception, bookings, payments and retail, while keeping the spa areas pristine and welcoming.

You’ll support therapists, ensure smooth handovers, and help guests enjoy a seamless visit from arrival to departure. Training is provided and full/part-time hours are available.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual in a busy spa environment.
• Available to work weekends and bank holidays.
• Warm and welcoming with a guest-focused approach.
• Comfortable with booking systems and handling payments accurately.
• Calm and organized when the desk is busy or plans change.
• Spa/front-of-house or hospitality experience welcome but full training provided.

Responsibilities

• At the desk: greet guests on arrival, check them in for treatments, manage bookings via phone, email and in person, take payments and process retail sales, answer queries about treatments and facilities, upsell where appropriate.
• In the spa: keep reception and relaxation areas tidy and well presented, perform general cleaning duties, restock robes/towels/slippers and displays, support flow of treatment rooms and schedules, keep menus and price lists up to date, flag maintenance needs.
• With the team: liaise with therapists on timings and guest needs, support smooth handovers between shifts, ensure guests feel looked after from arrival to departure.

The first face guests see, and the reason their visit starts well.

We're building our spa team at Milk Wood House, and we're hiring more than one person. The spa is open daily, so we need people who can cover a range of shifts - whether that's full-time hours, or a couple of days that fit around everything else.

You'll be the first point of contact for guests at Milk Wood House spa, from the moment they arrive through to booking their next visit, so every guest feels looked after from the front desk to the treatment room door.

The welcome matters most. We're looking for someone who's genuinely warm with guests, calm when the desk gets busy, and comfortable managing bookings, treatment schedules and retail alongside the day-to-day running of the reception and relaxation areas.

It's a role that suits someone who enjoys people, stays organised under pressure, and takes pride in a spa that runs smoothly from the moment the doors open.

What you'll be doing

At the desk

• Welcoming guests on arrival and checking them in for treatments
• Managing bookings by phone, email and in person, including the diary for treatment rooms
• Taking payments and processing retail sales accurately
• Answering guest queries about treatments, packages and facilities
• Upselling treatments, packages and retail products where it genuinely suits the guest

In the spa

• Keeping reception, relaxation and spa areas tidy, welcoming and well presented
• General cleaning duties - squeegeeing, restocking shower products, removing cups
• Restocking robes, towels, slippers and retail displays throughout the day
• Supporting the flow of treatment rooms - making sure therapists and guests are on schedule
• Keeping menus, price lists and promotional material up to date and on display
• Flagging anything that needs maintenance or attention before guests notice it

With the team

• Liaising with therapists on timings, guest needs and any special requests
• Supporting smooth handovers between shifts
• Helping guests feel looked after from arrival to departure, including seeing them off at the end of their visit

What we're looking for

• Reliable above all - a busy spa only works if everyone turns up
• Available to work weekends & bank holidays
• Naturally warm and welcoming, with genuine care for guest experience
• Comfortable with booking systems and handling payments accurately
• Calm and organised when the desk gets busy or plans change
• Confident having sales conversations about treatments and retail, without being pushy
• Previous spa, hotel or hospitality front-of-house experience is welcome, but not essential - full training given
