Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking a SPA Clinician for a 3-month assignment in Redditch, with a 37.5 hour week (9:00–17:00, Mon–Fri). The post pays £21.57 per hour (exc WTD), with opportunities to develop in a supportive NHS environment.

The role involves clinical assessment, risk assessment, and timely triage within the SPA, coordinating with GPs and referrers to ensure safe pathways and confidential information handling.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification relating to Health or Social Care (e.g., Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work).
• High level of competence in risk assessment and evidence-based practice.
• Experience with severe and enduring mental illness in a community setting.
• Experience of working in a community CAMHS setting.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment/opinion and triage of referrals within the SPA, guiding to appropriate services per pathways.
• Offer feedback and information to referrers when referrals are not suitable for CAMHS.
• Collaborate with GPs and referrers to collect information for prompt decision making on pathways for referrals.
• Design and provide service information for referrers and service users about available options.
• Ensure timely, confidential progress updates to referrers and relevant teams.
• Promote culturally capable, non-discriminatory mental health care with a recovery focus.
