Job summary

RNLI in the South West region is seeking an Area Operations Manager for a temporary 6-month role covering the area between Rock and Ilfracombe, plus Fowey and Looe. You will lead lifeboat stations and volunteers, ensuring a safe and effective lifeboat service.

You must be an experienced people manager with a maritime operational background, likely to be Navigator or Coxswain level, willing to go afloat with the team, travel within the region and to the UK and Ireland, and be prepared for

Qualifications

• Experience operating in commercial afloat maritime operations.
• Proven people management skills in a marine environment.
• Navigator or Coxswain level, willing to go afloat with the team.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and management to a group of lifeboat stations, ensuring they operate in line with RNLI values and procedures.
• Inspire, lead and develop your team, promoting inclusive environment for all RNLI people.
• Actively manage safe and effective delivery of RNLI lifesaving services through an assurance framework.
• Collaborate with regional colleagues to deliver lifesaving services and objectives.
