Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes seeks a dedicated Sous Chef for Chawley Grove, a luxury care home in Oxford. You will support the head chef in planning and delivering meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs, ensuring nutritious, enjoyable options are prepared with care.

The role emphasises high standards of cleanliness, safety and teamwork within a 5-star care setting. On-site parking and clear opportunities for training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support head chef in planning and provisioning high-quality meals meeting nutritional and dietary requirements.
• Plan, prepare and serve balanced meals meeting dietary needs.
• Cater to individual preferences and medical needs (allergies, soft diets).
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure enjoyable meal times.
• deputise for head chef during absences and maintain high quality food offering.
