Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a Sous Chef to join our caring team. You will work with the Head Chef to create nutritious, flavoursome menus using fresh, seasonal produce tailored to residents' preferences.

You’ll lead in the Head Chef’s absence, develop innovative dishes, and ensure high standards of hygiene and cost control. This full-time, on-site role offers a supportive work environment within our care homes.

Qualifications

• Warm and personable approach to residents and dining environments.
• Knowledge of culinary qualifications and standards (City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent).
• Understanding of nutrition and using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Ability to engage residents in menu design and dining experiences.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP and kitchen hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen in Head Chef's absence.
• Assist in developing innovative menus for residents.
• Use fresh produce to craft high-quality, wholesome dishes.
• Manage stock and budget to ensure efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits to maintain culinary standards and safety.
