Beautiful Golf Club in the Basingstoke area is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join a busy kitchen within a growing hospitality group. The role offers around c£32,000 plus excellent benefits, with salary negotiable depending on experience.

You will contribute to menu development and bring energy and personality to guest dining experiences. Working with a Head Chef, you’ll prepare, cook and plate dishes, oversee kitchen staff in the Head Chef’s absence, ensure health and safety compliance, and

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Former Sous Chef or equivalent experience preferred.
• Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field.
• Solid knowledge of culinary techniques and tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding leadership, time management, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in developing and implementing menus that align with high standards and culinary vision.
• Prepare, cook, and plate dishes in a timely and efficient manner.
• Oversee the kitchen staff in the Head Chef's absence to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and speed of service.
• Ensure food preparation and storage comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Minimize waste and maintain food costs by adhering to portion control guidelines and proper inventory management.
• Uphold highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
• Continuously expand knowledge of culinary trends and techniques to introduce new items and flavours.
