Parker's Tavern at University Arms in Cambridge is seeking a Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards, speed, accuracy, and cost control.

You will mentor junior staff, manage stock, uphold food safety, and deliver consistent presentation and taste. Flexible scheduling including weekends is required, with sponsorship options for eligible Skilled Worker applicants.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef in a Four- or Five-Star or high-end restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices.
• Teamwork-oriented with ability to lead and train a team.
• Competent level of English spoken and written.
• Must be available to work a varied schedule including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
• Thorough knowledge of food products, recipes and preparation.

Responsabilités

• Lead kitchen in the absence of Head Chef and Exec Sous Chef; ensure smooth service and consistent quality.
• Train, mentor and motivate junior chefs, leading by example.
• Manage stock control, ordering, waste reduction and cost efficiencies.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and allergen standards in line with requirements.
• Ensure high standards of presentation, portion control and taste.
