Job summary

The Lion Hotel Worksop, part of the Frasers Group, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team and uphold high standards of food quality. You will drive culinary excellence, coach staff, and ensure safety and cost controls across restaurant, bar, and function areas.

You will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain service levels, training, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced chef with Level 2 NVQ in professional cookery.
• Passion for food and cooking.
• Leadership experience of kitchen teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high standards of food quality at all times.
• Lead and motivate kitchen team to achieve objectives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, fire and security.
• Review department performance with Head Chef using audits and reports.
• Manage cost and budget while protecting guest experience.
• Maximise revenue streams from restaurant, bar, and functions.
• Maintain accurate records and food safety documentation.
• Communicate brand information and encourage feedback.
