Job summary

The Watermill, a Crafted Pub, is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join a busy Surrey kitchen. You will work closely with the Head Chef, leading from the front during peak services and delivering outstanding, fresh-food dishes.

You’ll thrive in a high-volume environment, mentoring a kitchen team, controlling costs, and upholding strict quality and hygiene standards. Live-in accommodation is available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for next step.
• Experience working in a high-volume kitchen where quality matters.
• Genuine passion for fresh food and high standards.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the kitchen team through busy services to ensure every dish leaves at the highest standard.
• Hands-on leadership, setting example during peak times.
• Help manage stock, ordering, wastage and kitchen costs.
• Coach and develop chefs to build a strong, motivated kitchen team.
• Stay calm, organised and hands-on during high-volume services.
