Job summary

THE PIG-in the South Downs, Madehurst, BN18 0NL is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in running a busy kitchen. You’ll manage one of four sections, contribute new menu ideas, and oversee health and safety, ordering, and rotas while inspiring junior chefs.

We value passion for modern British food, sustainability, and the ability to develop the team; there are opportunities to move across properties and advance to Senior Sous roles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is necessary.
• Knowledge of all areas of the kitchen is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen, managing one of the four sections, providing new ideas for the menu, and handling health and safety, ordering and rotas.
• Lead and inspire junior chefs; opportunities to progress across multiple properties and to step up to Senior Sous.
