Job summary

Sodexo Live! in the UK is seeking a proactive Sous Chef to support high-quality hospitality and event catering at Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. You will lead kitchen teams, develop menus and ensure top standards of food safety and guest experience on matchdays and events.

The role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for fresh food, strong organizational skills and a proven track record in premium catering environments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef within a fresh food environment.
• Food Safety Level 2 required, Level 3 desirable.
• Experience leading kitchen teams and coaching staff.
• Strong knowledge of food production and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, preparation and delivery of premium hospitality and event menus.
• Produce high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients and creative presentation.
• Supervise and motivate chefs and kitchen teams during service.
• Assist with menu planning, development and cost control.
• Support stock management, ordering and inventory control.
• Ensure exceptional Food Safety, Health & Safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Lead by example to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the food offer and guest experience.
• Work across matchdays, conferences, private events and corporate hospitality functions.

Job description

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Executive Head Chef and Head Chef to support the delivery of high-quality hospitality and event catering across the stadium. You'll play a key role in menu development, leading kitchen teams, maintaining exceptional food safety standards and ensuring every guest enjoys a first-class dining experience. We're seeking an enthusiastic, organised and experienced chef who enjoys developing people, taking ownership and delivering food to the highest standards. You'll be a confident and approachable leader who enjoys inspiring others to perform at their best. You will bring creativity, energy and a commitment to excellence, ensuring every plate leaving the kitchen reflects the quality and standards that Sodexo and Brighton & Hove Football Club are known for.

What You’ll Do:

• Supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of premium hospitality and event menus

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef within a fresh food environment
• Strong knowledge of food production and kitchen operations

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Passion for food, hospitality and current culinary trends
• Food Safety Level 2 (minimum)
• Availability to work all Brighton & Hove Albion home matchdays
• Desirable: Food Safety Level 3
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification
• Experience within hospitality, events, stadiums or contract catering
• Menu costing and menu development experience
• Training and coaching experience
• Brighton & Hove Football Club, helping to deliver exceptional hospitality, fine dining and event catering experiences on both matchdays and non-matchdays.
