Job summary

Sodexo Live! at Headingley Stadium is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead a high-volume kitchen team and deliver exceptional dining experiences on matchdays and major events.

You will work with the Executive Head Chef to shape the food offer, develop menus, maintain premium standards, and coach chefs across levels, with a strong emphasis on food safety and cost control.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume hospitality, events or stadium environments.
• Strong background in fine dining or premium hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead and develop kitchen teams.
• Passion for food trends and menu development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong financial understanding including food cost control.

What You'll Do

• Leading kitchen operations across matchdays, events and hospitality functions
• Supporting menu development and culinary innovation
• Delivering exceptional food quality and presentation standards
• Inspiring, coaching and developing chefs at all levels
• Managing food safety, HACCP and compliance standards
• Supporting client tastings and menu presentations
• Driving profitability through effective food cost control
• Planning labour requirements and supporting kitchen resourcing
• Ensuring operational readiness for high-profile events and major fixtures
• Deputising for the Executive Head Chef and Head Chef when required

What You Bring

• Essential Experience

  • Experience within a high-volume hospitality, events, stadium, hotel or banqueting environment
  • Strong background in fine dining, premium hospitality or quality-led catering
  • Proven experience leading and developing kitchen teams
  • Passion for food trends, innovation and menu development
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong financial understanding, including food cost control and margin management
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification

• Desirable

  • Previous Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef experience
  • Experience in stadiums, major events or large-scale hospitality operations
  • Supervising Food Safety Level 3
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Experience within contract catering
  • Training and development experience
