Job summary

Delta Hotels by Marriott Durham Royal County is seeking a dedicated kitchen team member who will ensure proper portions, food safety and peak presentation for a range of dishes. You will support the Chef, maintain HACCP standards, and assist during busy periods to guarantee guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering Certificate is required.
• Food Allergy and Intolerance Training Certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish for all dishes.
• Serve foods in correct portions with attention to presentation.
• Inform service staff of specials and stock items.
• Prepare potentially hazardous foods at correct HACCP temperatures.
• Follow hygiene procedures and wear appropriate gear for food safety.
• Maintain food safety policies, FIFO, labeling, cleaning and storage.
• Notify manager of any product quality issues.
• Monitor food quantities to control waste.
• Communicate with the Chef during busy periods for optimal service.
• Operate kitchen appliances safely and check temperatures.
• Report maintenance needs to management promptly.
• Keep knowledge of company Food Safety Programs up to date.
• Prepare cold foods such as salads, sandwiches, condiments.
