Job summary

Marston’s is seeking a proactive Sous Chef to lead on the pass and support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, branded dishes across our busy kitchen. You’ll be hands-on, guiding the team, maintaining rigorous standards, and ensuring excellent guest experiences every service.

With opportunities to develop through our internal pathways, you’ll grow your culinary leadership and contribute to a thriving, people-first pub environment.

Qualifications

• Branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef.
• Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen.
• Accountable for running the line during service.
• Oversee and develop the kitchen team while maintaining high standards of food and service.
• Demonstrate passion for delivering the best possible quality and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and cover for them on shift.
• Run the line during service to ensure smooth operation.
• Assist in managing all aspects of the kitchen.
• Develop and coach kitchen staff to improve skills.

Leading by example, you’ll ensure hot, quality food that you and the team can be proud of gets presented to the pass each and every time.

As Sous Chef you’ll:

Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to our Head Chef – stepping up and covering for them when they’re not on shift.

• Offer previous branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef
• Assist our Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen
• Accountable for running the line during service
• Oversee, organise, and encouragethe kitchen team - helping to develop their skills
• Be passionateabout maintaining the highest standards of food and service
