Job summary

JW Lees is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will lead in the Head Chef’s absence, help develop menus, manage stock, and guide junior staff to maintain top standards across all dishes.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef in a pub/restaurant is essential.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.
• Ability to lead in Head Chef's absence and mentor junior kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Assist with menu development and stock control to ensure fresh, quality produce.
• Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff.
• Maintain high standards and ensure 5* scores on the doors.
• Motivate the team to consistently deliver quality dishes.
• Play an integral role in training and development of junior staff.
