Job summary

Nottingham College is seeking a Sous Chef to join the busy curriculum Catering Team at the City Hub site in Nottingham. You will work with a dynamic team to deliver a fast paced curriculum area and the fine dining restaurant, maintaining high standards of health and safety and food safety.

The role requires experience in a fine dining catering environment and a food safety certificate (or willingness to train).

What you'll do

A fresh exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous chef to join our busy curriculum Catering Team here at the City Hub site in Nottingham. As part of this role, you will work alongside a dynamic Catering and Hospitality team and support in the delivery of a fast paced, curriculum area and fine dining restaurant. We are looking for people committed to providing excellent standards of health and safety, food safety and culinary skills as well as a being a strong team player. The ability to demonstrate good organisational skills and model professional practices, working to high set standards, being able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is also essential. Experience of working successfully in a fine dining catering environment is essential as is possession of a food safety certificate or a willingness to undertake training in food safety.

Who we're looking for

A key focus of this role will be maintaining and driving the set high standards of the Fletchers fine dining menu working alongside a diverse range of students whilst being able to develop their practical kitchen skills in line with industry standards and enhancing the overall student experience. You will bring energy, and a professionalism aligned with an experienced team of lecturers and be able to support the head chef and front of house team in developing menus, timely ordering of necessary food items, resources, continuing the growth and success of the fine dining skills training restaurant.
