Job summary

Warner Hotels is seeking a talented Sous Chef at Thoresby Hall to join the culinary team. You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise junior chefs, and ensure top quality dining experiences for guests.

With a strong focus on food safety, cost control, and maintaining a branded menu, you will contribute to a high-standard guest experience and work closely with the Head Chef to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in branded hotel/restaurant environments.
• Ability to supervise and train junior chefs.
• Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP principles.
• Experience managing food costs and inventories.
• Ability to work under pressure and lead a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and station readiness.

Salary: £29,000 - £35,000

What will I be doing?

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring all stations are properly organised and prepared for service.
• Supervising and training junior chefs, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Ensuring food safety standards are always adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
• Monitoring inventory levels and managing food costs to meet financial targets.
• Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and responding to guest feedback

• A Sous Chef who understands the importance of working in a branded environment.
• You will have the ability to create a culture of support and actively encourages teamwork.
• Willingness to challenge if standards aren’t meeting required levels.
• A chef with a passion for great food and service.

What skills do I need?

• Understands the important of working with a branded menu.
• Experience of managing orders, food stocks and forecast against occupancy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and can adapt quickly to changing requirements.
• Good financial knowledge with the ability to manage costs in line with the department’s budget.
