Job summary

Marston’s plc is seeking a proactive Sous Chef to join our pub kitchen team. You’ll be second in command to the Head Chef, ensuring hot, quality dishes reach the pass with confidence and consistency.

You’ll support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, run the line during service, and help develop the kitchen team to uphold the highest standards of food and service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role or as a Commis Chef is desirable.
• Ability to manage a busy kitchen and lead a team.
• Commitment to food safety and high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Be second in command to Head Chef and cover shifts as needed.
• Assist Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen.
• Run the line during service and maintain high quality output.
• Oversee and develop the kitchen team’s skills and performance.

As Sous Chef you’ll:

Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to our Head Chef – stepping up and covering for them when they’re not on shift.

• Offer previous branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef
• Assist our Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen
• Accountable for running the line during service
• Oversee, organise, and encouragethe kitchen team - helping to develop their skills
• Be passionateabout maintaining the highest standards of food and service
