Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a Sous Chef to help deliver nutritious, flavourful menus using fresh seasonal ingredients tailored to residents’ preferences.

You’ll support the Head Chef, lead in their absence, and help develop innovative menus while managing budget and ensuring high standards of hygiene. This role offers no evenings and every other weekend off, plus extensive training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Warm and personable with residents' wellbeing in mind.
• Possesses culinary qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent).
• Has a good understanding of nutrition and fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Engages with residents to design appetising and nutritious menus.
• Maintains HACCP food safety standards and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen leadership in Head Chef's absence, maintaining a warm, efficient atmosphere.
• Assist in developing innovative menus that delight residents.
• Craft high-quality, wholesome dishes using fresh produce.
• Manage budget and stock control to ensure efficiency.
• Conduct regular food safety and quality audits.
