Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a talented Sous Chef at Midford Manor Care Home to support the Head Chef in delivering nutritious, seasonal menus tailored to residents' preferences.

This full-time role features a 40-hour week with no late evenings and alternating weekends. Salary is £32,000 per annum with overtime at £15.50 per hour, plus annual salary reviews, training, and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Warmth and personable approach to resident care and dining.
• Culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Engages with residents to design appetising and nutritious menus.
• Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Leadership: manage the kitchen in Head Chef's absence.
• Menu Development: assist in creating innovative menus for residents.
• Creative Culinary Crafting: use fresh produce to craft wholesome dishes.
• Budget Management: work within budget and manage stock control.
• Quality Assurance: conduct audits to uphold culinary standards and safety.
