Job summary

Platinum Recruitment is working with a well-established, modern British restaurant in Dartmouth, Devon, to recruit a Sous Chef in a full-time role with live-in accommodation if required.

The role reports to the Head Chef, assists in managing a busy kitchen, and oversees a team of 6 people. It includes menu development, quality control for 100–120 covers, stock management, and strict health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a culinary professional is implied by the Sous Chef role.
• Ability to manage a busy kitchen and lead a team.
• Strong communication within kitchen and to Head Chef.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in managing a busy kitchen, ensuring smooth daily operations
• Plan and organise kitchen tasks alongside the Head Chef
• Supervise and coordinate a kitchen team of 6
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, maintaining quality standards for 100-120 covers
• Manage stock, assist with orders, and control waste and food costs
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene regulations
• Contribute ideas for menu development and new techniques
