Job summary

Cornwall Staff Agency Ltd seeks a skilled Sous Chef for a brewery-owned pub, bar and restaurant in Salcombe, South Devon. Live-in accommodation is included.

40-50 hours per week with an immediate start, for a 6-8 week temporary assignment, supporting the Head Chef and team to deliver high-quality dishes during peak season. The ideal candidate has previous Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie experience, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and demonstrates excellent teamwork and organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to lead a Chef de Partie team and maintain standards.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced kitchen during peak season.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.

Sous Chef Required - Salcombe, South Devon - Live In Available

My client, an established and busy brewery-owned pub, bar and restaurant in Salcombe, South Devon, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to start as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy kitchen operation and work alongside the Head Chef and Chef de Partie team in delivering a high-quality food offering during the peak summer season.

Position Details

• Role: Sous Chef
• Location: Salcombe, South Devon
• Rate: £19.00 per hour
• Hours: 40-50 hours per week
• Duration: 6-8 week temporary assignment
• Live-in accommodation included

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Supporting and supervising the Chef de Partie team
• Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation
• Ensuring Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards are maintained
• Providing support during busy service periods

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
