Job summary

NEW MOON TANDOORI RESTAURANT LTD in Gatley is seeking a full-time kitchen assistant to support the Head Chef in daily operations and uphold high standards across dishes. You will assist with preparation, cook Bangladeshi and Indian dishes, follow recipes, supervise staff during busy periods, and ensure food safety and hygiene in prep, cook, storage and service areas.

Experience is not required; salary is £28,000–£32,000 yearly.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
• Organise and complete daily preparation, including weighing, portioning and marinating ingredients.
• Prepare and cook a range of authentic Bangladeshi and Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, starters, rice dishes and accompaniments.
• Follow established recipes to maintain consistency in flavour, portion size and presentation.
• Assist in directing and supervising kitchen staff, allocating preparation and cooking duties to support smooth service during busy periods.
• Ensure all food is stored, prepared and handled in compliance with food hygiene, allergen and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout preparation, cooking, storage and service areas to support efficient kitchen operations.
